The early Manara metals factory

The metals factory has existed in Manara since the kibbutz’s early days and has been operating for nearly 60 years.

Until the ’90s, the factory focused on designing and producing carts and trailers for agriculture and for industry, providing up-to-date solutions in accordance with developments in these two sectors. The factory's focus on high quality production; knowledgeable, professional staff; and strong collaboration with clients around their needs and requirements has ensured its ongoing value as a business. Carts and trailers built at Manara during this time refuse to fail and continue to serve their clients well.

From the ’90s, the factory continued to give services to farmers and industrial operations in its area and beyond, but added a new stream of products. The factory now has a focus on planning, developing, and manufacturing a variety of products for the military, the Israeli Air Force, defense and aerospace industries. The factory began to produce special trailers and transport solutions targeted to the needs of these new customers. The Manara metals factory is the only facility in the world to produce the “Helimover,” a self-propelled trailer for large skid-mounted helicopters such as the Bell 212, 412, the Cobra and many others.

Lately, the factory has specialised in production of ground equipment, lifting apparatus, and specific equipment to assist aerospace labs by providing unique solutions for the different industries. The factory deals with planning and development of service items for Israel Aerospace Industries, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Elbit Systems and more. This equipment services the variety of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles that are currently in service with the Israel Defense Forces or being developed.

Many of the factory's products have also designated for export to the United States. The Helimover was demonstrated at a trade show in Los Angeles to great interest and acclaim.
